Timo Arnall speaker at #foi12

Timo Arnall will be speaking at #foi12 as keynoter of the “Talking objects” session. Timo is creative director at BERG in London and has been making films, designing products, and researching emerging technologies for 15 years. As a true artist, much of Timo’s work has been about developing and explaining emerging technologies through visual experiments, films, visualisations, speculative products and interfaces.
Recent exhibitions include MoMA’s ‘Talk to Me’, the V&A’s ‘Power of Making’, London Transport’s ‘Sense and the City’ and ‘Habitar’ at Laboral in Spain.

Most recently, BERG has been widely featured on news for its cute Little Printer.

World premiere: Adam Carpet live #foi12

We love sound. We love art. We love live performances.
FoI 2012 will feature great music and an exclusive preview: Adam Carpet will be playing live and present their new album with a very special performance. An unusual “ensemble” with a double drum set, two basses, synth/keyboards/guitar, a visual live show with an analogic/digital twist and a live visual soundtrack that will be projected on a series of screens surrounding the stage and embracing the musicians, creating a dialogue with the music. Adam Carpet is much more than a musical project, it’s a stream of consciousness, a concept that ritmically pinballs between the two banks of a musical river, it’s a movie to be watched with your ears and to be listened with your eyes.
Not just interesting and edgy talks at FoI, world known speakers and workshops but a soundtrack and a visual performance that will win you for sure, don’t miss it!

Christophe Duteil – ePawn Arena

We are thrilled to announce Christophe Duteil, Ceo ePawn, as new speaker at FoI 12.
ePawn Arena, still in the prototype phase though, is aiming to shake up the tabletop gaming space. It blends touch screens, bluetooth, your iPhone and action figures to create a very unique play experience.
The company is creating a 26″ screen that uses special figures/controllers to let people play games they download to their iPhone on a larger arena, since the software is platform agnostic, and doesn’t reside on the screen itself. Easy to see how far it would go.
Christophe won’t just showcase the Arena, he will tell us how the videogames and the toys industries will soon face a major change, wth the introduction of the “videotoys“.

Presentation designer and internationally acclaimed communications expert Garr Reynolds will join Frontiers of Interaction 2012 for a great hands-on workshop (day 1) and an inspirational talk (day 2).
Garr is worldwide known for its “Presentation Zen”, a book about restraint, simplicity, and a natural approach to presentations that is appropriate for an age in which design-thinking, storytelling, and “right-brain thinking” are crucial complements to analysis, logic, and argument.
Presentation Zen is an approach, not a method, to encourage people to think differently about their visuals, the way they present them, and how they connect with audiences.

David Crane, co-founder of Activision, is our first keynoter.

As we announce that Frontiers of Interaction 2012 will be held in Rome (June 7-8), we are super happy to announce David Crane as first keynote speaker.
David is one of the most talented and successful software and hardware designers of all time!
An Atari programmer, co-founder of Activision, and generally known for creating the wildly popular Pitfall, Decathlon and Ghostbuster.

He founded Skyworks Interactive in 1995, a company that has had five #1 games and 21 Top 100 games on the iPhone and the iPad.
